
Dr. Baier has been practicing Orthopedic Surgery in Lake County since 1985. He has a special interest in sports medicine, including arthroscopic ACL reconstruction. He also has an interest in total joint reconstruction. His interests also include worker's compensation injuries. He is certified in MIS Mini-incision Total Hip Replacement and Quadriceps Sparing Knee Replacement.
Dr. Baier serves as the team physician for the Libertyville High School football team, and local area boys' club football and soccer teams. He also trains other physicians to do arthroscopic ACL reconstruction surgery at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Orthopaedic Learning Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
Dr. Baier graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign, and attended Rush Medical School. He completed his residency at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, the major orthopaedic trauma referral center for central Illinois.
Since 2007, Dr. Baier has served as Major in the Army Reserve using his medical experience to support our military injured in combat. In the summer of 2008, Dr. Baier did a four month tour of duty in Iraq.
